I am a Creative-Graphic Designer and Photographer, now based in Valdez, AK; although I am originally from Puerto Rico. Graduated from Pratt Institute with a Master Degree in Communications Design and Packaging. With a Thesis desertation on: "The Influence of Puerto Rican Culture Through the Communication Design: Is there a Puerto Rican Style?" The Study attempt to investigate and define the use of culture as a valuable element in design. This included a broad analysis of the Theory of Style and the relationship between the individual thought and cultural identity. Topics discoursed are Cultural Identity & Style, History of Visual Communication in Puerto Rico, Historical Influence brought to P.R. and Style in Puerto Rican Culture. Following the analysis, four different styles manifested on the Island based on specific advertising campaigns are showed: Cultural Style, Fashionable Style, Classical Style and Cross-Cultural Style.
Now I am managing to combine all my skills by offering people my work from home which will maximize opportunities to be more creative. |
