I would suggest the Canon 100-400 L f/4-5.6 IS, and the x 1.4 teleconverter.
This would be a good combination, but would cost slightly more than your budget allows. So Id wait till you can afford it. I think the lens is wonderful,
its heavy though and even more weighty with the converter on and difficult to manage in windy situations without a tripod.
Dont go for cheaper lenses that compromise quality.
