I like to invent styles through playfull experimentation and improvisation. I like to transmit meaning through art and life, to this and future generations. I have dedicated two decades of my life almost exclusively to art. A luxury and an exiting but rather lonely road.
I like to combine materials and techniques. These last few years I started moving away from material art and towards digital art (pixel art), maintaining however the often hidden conceptual core of my work. I started to incorporate video, audio, webdesign, 'browser art', 'digital sculpture' and photography.
In 2015 someone gave me his photo camera. The circumstances of this gift made me taken up a more pure form of photography again, after a long pauze of about 20 years when I was living in Central America. Feels like a cycle coming to a close.
A few hundred of my works can be found on my website www.expoo.info. Some works exist in their final form only as part of this website. For example "Fading Artist Identity" or "Snoteter". Both works started out as sculptures, then incorporated performance, installation, functionality, video, among other forms of expression. They are difficult to present here.
Worktitles come to me, if they do, regulary in different languages. I generally don't translate them, but respect the sound that comes with each language as a part of the work.
A lot of my works incorporate two red dots. I consider them some sort of rather vague artist identification.
